Got Conflict?...Uncertain?...Mediation Can Help
With any type of conflict (dispute) there are certain types of emotions
that are tied to it. As a mediator
I understand the emotions involved
in deciding to mediate and the emotions during the mediation.
For
example, a person may feel like they cannot by themselves work out an
agreement or are afraid that the other person will take advantage of
them. During mediation, I take the time to gather information,
communicate with individuals separately and in joint session, ask
questions, allow for parties to communicate with each other, make sure
all parties have their time to speak openly and uninterrupted and check
mutual understandings for stability during the mediation and up to the
final resolution.

During mediation all types of emotions are present from anger, betrayal,
frustration and the list can go on. I guide the parties through the
mediation process that not only gets feelings out on the table, but works
with them as well. It also allows for all information needed by each
person involved to make an informed decision.
Making an informed
decision is what mediation is about.
This information can be
acquired from many resources, meaning outside parties like lawyers,
financial advisers or any other type of help a person may need to feel
comfortable making a decision for agreement.

Mediation can be used in collaboration with other practices to help
people resolve and move on from their conflict.
The idea is that the
mediator remains neutral and that the parties trust the mediator
and the process.
